Ask AI lets you get the most important information out of any document without having to read it yourself. Point it at a file and it returns a plain-English summary, a list of key dates such as renewal deadlines and appointments, and a list of action items — things you or your family need to do. You review everything before anything is saved, and AI never runs on a file unless you ask it to.

Running Ask AI on a file

1

Open the file

Click on any file to open it in the preview. You can run Ask AI on PDFs, images, text files, and other supported document types.
2

Click Ask AI

Click the Ask AI button in the file preview. If this is your first time using Ask AI, you will be shown a short privacy notice — read it and click I understand, continue to proceed.
3

Choose what to extract

Check the boxes for the outputs you want: Summary, Key dates, and/or Action items. You can optionally add a note in the Anything specific? field to focus the AI — for example, “focus on payment amounts and renewal terms”.
4

Click Analyse

Click Analyse. The AI reads your document, which usually takes a few seconds.
5

Review the results

The results appear for you to review before anything is saved. For key dates and action items, each suggested entry has a checkbox — uncheck any you don’t want to keep.
6

Save

Click Save to store your chosen results. Summaries are saved to the AI Summaries view. Dates are added to your Calendar. Action items are added to your Tasks.
AI can make mistakes. Always check important dates and details against the original document before acting on them. Do not rely on AI output alone for legal, medical, or financial decisions.

Calendar view

Dates extracted by Ask AI are added to the Calendar view, where you can see them in a monthly grid or an agenda list. The Calendar also shows overdue, today’s, and upcoming events grouped separately in agenda view. You can also add events manually to the Calendar at any time — click Add event and fill in a title, date, optional time, and notes. Events added manually are not linked to a file. Each event card in the Calendar shows the source file it came from (if it was extracted by AI). Click the file name on the card to open that file in the preview.

Tasks view

Action items extracted by Ask AI are added to the Tasks view. Tasks are shown in two tabs: Open and Done. Check the checkbox on a task to mark it as done, or uncheck it to reopen it. You can also add tasks manually — click Add task to create one without running AI. Each task can have a title, an optional due date, and optional notes. Like Calendar events, AI-extracted tasks show a link to the source file. Click the file name to open the file in the preview.

AI Summaries view

All summaries you save are collected in the AI Summaries view. Each summary card shows the source file name, the date the summary was generated, and the summary text. If you added a specific prompt when running Ask AI, it is shown beneath the summary. You can delete a summary from this view — deleting a summary does not affect any dates or tasks that were saved from the same run.

Privacy and your data

No. Ask AI never runs unless you explicitly click Analyse on a specific file. Nothing is sent to the AI provider automatically, and there is no background processing.
No. Your files are sent to the AI provider solely to produce the analysis you requested. The provider does not use your data to train its models.
AI output follows the same access rules as the source file. If the file is private to you, only you can see the summary, dates, and tasks extracted from it. If the file is in a shared folder, people with access to that folder can also see the results.
Yes. You can delete any summary from the AI Summaries view, remove any event from the Calendar, and remove any task from the Tasks view — individually, at any time.
