Family Folder offers three plans designed for different household needs — from trying things out for free to a one-time lifetime purchase. All plans keep your files private and let you export your data whenever you want.

Plans at a glance

The Free plan is a great way to get started with a small group. It includes:

  • Unlimited folders and files

  • Folder sharing with Owner, Contributor, and Viewer roles

The Family plan is built for households that want more space, more members, and more AI capability. It includes everything in Free, plus:

How to upgrade

Only the Family Administrator can change the plan for your family.

Open Family Settings

From the app, navigate to Family Settings.

Go to Plan & billing

Select the Plan & billing tab. Your current plan and usage are shown here.

Select Upgrade

Click Upgrade to Pro in the Plan & billing card (on the Free plan), or go to the pricing page to compare Family monthly, yearly, and Forever options.

Complete checkout

Choose your billing cycle and currency, then complete the checkout flow. Your plan upgrades immediately after payment.
Payments are processed securely by Paddle. Your card details are handled by Paddle and are never stored by Family Folder.

Viewing storage and member usage

You can see how much storage and how many member slots your family is using in Family Settings → Plan & billing. The section shows:
  • Members: current count vs. your plan’s limit, with a progress bar
  • Storage: bytes used vs. your plan’s total, with a progress bar
If you reach the member limit on the Free plan, you’ll need to upgrade before you can invite new members.

Cancellation and your data

You can cancel your Family subscription at any time from the Paddle billing portal. When you cancel:
  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period
  • After the period ends, your family moves back to the Free plan limits
  • Your files are always yours. You can export them at any time, regardless of plan status
Family Forever is a one-time purchase with no subscription to cancel. Once purchased, access never expires.
